RSWM: UDAAN Project

Corporate HR initiated a Learning & Development journey for RSWM employees by launching a Project called UDAAN. The initiative is aimed at identifying the talented high Potential Performers by developing them for future leadership roles who can assume higher set of responsibilities in the organization both vertically & horizontally. In the first phase 54 employees were identified through 360 Degree Assessment by taking all round assessment from Self, Superior& Peer group.

All the total 54 identified employees were divided into two Groups called – SHIKHAR & GAGAN. Apart from many other skill sets, the key focus is on developing the five major competencies; Strategic Thinking, Result Orientation, Collaboration & Influence, Transformational Leadership and Innovation & Creativity.

This Development and Learning curve will connect three major dots i.e. Organization, Self and Managing others.

The process would include 9 - 10 workshops of 2 days each. In each workshop participants are given time bound Projects which are to be completed at their respective workplace. To facilitate these learnings, Face to Face Group Coaching sessions are being held to strengthen the learnings of each workshop. The entire Process is facilitated under the close supervision of well-established certified Trainers.

The project was launched on 26th Septmeber, 2018 & was inaugurated by Sh. Sudhir Sood, Group President & CHRO and Shri Prakash Maheshwari, Chief Executive – Corporate Affairs & Power. During the month of September two workshops were conducted for both the groups.

HEG: Mock Drill

A mock fire drill was carried out on September 13, 2018 in the presence of Shri D.M. Nema (Deputy Director Industrial Health & Safety). Maintenance, Safety and Admin & Security teams actively participated in the mock drill.

HEG: Workshop On Strategic Thinking

Strategic thinking is a process that defines the manner in which people think about assess, view, and create the future for themselves and others. Strategic thinking is an extremely effective and valuable tool. A One-day Workshop was organized at HEG Bhopal for nominated IDP participants. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Rajesh Mohan Rai, Hero Mindmine where the participants understands taking self-initiatives, thinking ahead from business point of view, holistic approach for business decision making, to develop ability to visualize the 'Big Picture', Entropic thinking, Dynamic thinking, Linear thinking, Problem Solving techniques with corrective & preventive measures and Case studies for debate on strategic discussions.

HEG: Session On Team Management

Awareness of Team Management among managers means they can make more positive decisions, while thinking more strategically & looking at the bigger picture in context to organizational success. HR L&D organized a session on given topic based on the book ‘How Full Your Bucket’ by Donald O. Clifton & Tom Rath. The session included contents like the “bucket” and “dipper” theories of positive emotions, reduce negativity and increase your positive interactions and use reliable tactics to generate positive emotions. The session was conducted by Sh. Rajeev Agrawal, who himself owns his business in nearby industrial area; hence he could add his own insights and valuable practical inputs to make the session more lively.

HEG: Workshop on Culture Building

In order to strengthen the cultural / behavioural aspects among workmen, L&D team initiated a series of workshop - “Manthan-Swa Prabandhan”, initiated in the Jan-18, rolled out its 9th Batch. Till date 50% workmen have been covered in this series. This monthly workshop addresses cultural issues and their remedies, team work, discipline, communication, motivation, knowledge sharing and discussions. In this workshop 100% workmen coverage is targeted, so that the learnings may be cascaded to every person working in the shop floor.

ADHPL: Tier-2, Emergency Mock Drill

A tier-2 emergency mock drill on land slide with road accident at RD 7200 on Duhangan road was organized on 30th Aug. 2018, by ADHPL to check the emergency preparedness, planning and responses of the employees and rescue team. The scenario of the mock drill was a land slide which hits the shift vehicle at RD 7200 in which our staff was travelling to upstream areas. The State Police department also participated in the mock drill.

LNJ Skills: Skilling Programs for Girls

Skilling Industry has been evolving and growing under the vision of our Honourable PM Shri Narendra Modi. It is helping shape the future of the youth of the country and at the same time leveraging India’s young population.

On a recent visit by NIRD & GM RSLDC to a model skilling center owned by RSWM Limited (Skill Division) company, where nearly 200 girls reside and are being skilled, one can see the results in terms of their quality of learning, job readiness and confidence. These girl candidates are from various districts in Rajasthan. When the visiting officials asked the girls (who were learning advance apparel course), they showcased their work by wearing the garments they had independently designed and manufactured with a great deal of pride and joy.

One of the faculties shared his/her experiences about the best practices adapted by RSWM Limited (Skill Division), to not only retain these candidates but also to encourage them to enhance their skills. Counselling, duly filled consent form from candidate’s parents/guardians and many retention activities help the faculty retain these candidates.

To keep the candidates continuously engaged, extracurricular activities, sports, competitions, festivities, special meals, lectures by industry experts, motivational films and videos are organised at the centre. The top management from the company comes for periodic regularly interact with candidates and encourages them to express their views and move forward.

LNJ Denim: 5(S) Training & Its Implementation

A special training on 5(S) was conducted on 13th September, 2018. The two hour training program was provided to the staff. The training was given by Shri V K Purohit. The main objective of the training was to create awareness about the use of 5(S) in plant. Before training Shri V K Purohit has audited the implementation of 1(S) & 2(S) in our plant. He appreciated the system implementation & given his certain observation for further improvement in departmentwise. Total 36 staff members attended the session.

Banswara: Training on Health & Safety/Emergency Preparedness

An in house training programs on health & safety and emergency preparedness was conducted by our safety officer Shri Satyendra Singh Solanki at worker rest room and total 12 sessions had been conducted. The training session was attended by entire Male & Female workstaff in different groups and the training program organised by Shri Vikram Singh.

Kanyakheri: 5S Event

All the departments had participated in the 5S event head at Kanyakheri unit. Mr. Devraj & team from IT and the commercial department won the trophy. The Prize was given by Mr. Vinit Agarwal, COO Kanyakheri to the winning team and congratulated them as well.

Mandpam: Fire Fighting Training Session

A training session on fire-fighting was organized by the Unit’s Fire & Safety Executive, Mr. Anil Kumar Bishnoi on 20th July, 2018. He highlighted the importance of fire-fighting in day to day work. All fire-fighters of the plant along with senior members attended the training to give better understanding to all the employees for their safety.

Kharigram: “The Significance of Ring & Traveller" Training

A training programme was organised by HR department on “The Significance of Ring & Traveller" on 12th July, 2018. Shri B.K. Verma - DGM, Spinning explained about types of Ring Travellers and its practical aspects at workplace. All participants appreciated this program and encouraged to organise the same for all staff members periodically. Around 40 staff officers of production & other technical departments were benefited by this learning program.

Kharigram: Emergency Preparedness Training

An awareness cum training programme on Emergency Preparedness was organised on 17th August, 2018 which was presented by Sh Dileep Chourasia, Safety Officer. The officers from Engineering, Maintenance, Security, Commercial and Production departments were included in this programme. The topics covered during the training were - Fire Fighting, Evacuation Plan, Emergency Exit, Assemble method etc. He requested all the personnel to follow safety rules and educated that how to response upon in different emergency situations.

Kharigram: Training on "Classimat Faults"

A training programme was organised by HR department on the subject “Classimat Faults" on 25th August, 2018. Sh P. N. Jha - DGM, Post Spinning explained about Frequently occurring faults, Seldom occurring faults, Assessment of Faults and their remedies & Machine setup for reducing these faults. All the participants acquired good knowledge through this program and encouraged to organise the same for all technical staff periodically. 50 staff officers of Spinning, Post-Spinning and QA departments were benefited with this program.

Kharigram: Workshop on Bearing

As technical training, our workshop was organised on “Bearing" on 5th Sept, 2018 at HR Conference Hall 4,5. The facilitator was SKF bearing team. Total 40 technical participants attended this workshop. The points covered in program are Consumption Reduction with proper product selection & Practices. Bearing Sealing, Bearing Lubrication, Bearing Mounting and Dismounting, Case studies, bearing related pain areas. All concerned got benefits by this technical workshop and it was appreciated by all.

Kharigam: Training on Energy Management

An awareness cum training session on Energy Management was conducted on 17th Sept. 2018. All HOD’s and Managers attended this programme and got benefited. The topics - Energy Consumption, Efficiency, Energy Objective and Target, DO’s and Don’ts, Monitoring, Measurement and Analysis etc. were covered during this session. This training session was presented by Shri Sunil Kumar Gupta, General Manager-Engineering and he is also the facilitator of the programme.

Kharigram: RSLDC Batch Assessment

RSLDC (Rajasthan Skill and Livelihood Development Corporation) Project is successfully running at Kharigram Unit and the training is ongoing under HR/Training department. In this context, Assessment of 8th Batch of Autoconer tenter by third party done on 18th Aug. 2018 and candidates undergone written test, viva and practical in presence of District Coordinator of RSLDC, HR Head & Training Incharge Ms. Deepika Dadheech, Distt Skill Co-ordinator was happy to see the progress of this training.

Rishabhdev: Self Development Programme

'Speak what you know’ programme was held at Rishabhdev unit on 10th September, 2018. Four staff members from various departments gave five minutes speech on various topics. All the speakers gave a very good performance and got appreciation from all. Thereafter an open discussion was held on current event which was really amazing as the speakers discussed on the topic thoroughly.

Maral Sarovar: Chemical Safety Training

To improve the Safety Skills of Employees, Chemical Safety Training Program has been organized at Maral Overseas Limited. The Training program was conducted by Momentum India Pvt. Ltd, a renowned consultant in the field of safety audits. Approximately 120 Nos. of employees from Dyeing, ETP and WTP section attended the program in two sessions. In the program advanced techniques of Chemical Storage, Handling and Use of PPEs has been explained to the employees through PPT presentation and video film.

Maral Sarovar: “Safe India Drive” Campaign

Under the campaign of ‘Safe India Drive’ a Road-show of safety equipment through Mobile Van with an objective of Safer Workplace within the Industry held at Maral Overseas Ltd. on 7th September, 2018 by KARAM INDUSTRY (a leading manufacturer of Personal Protection Equipment in India). The ribbon cutting ceremony of the drive was solemnized from the hands of President Shri D.K. Mittal. The demo of safety equipments was witnessed by a large number of staff members and associates.

Maral Sarovar: Motivational Training for Employees

Emphasizing on building leadership qualities and team work between the employees, motivational training provided to senior officers and middle management of Maral Overseas Ltd, Maral Sarovar. This training was conducted by Outbound Workshop Indore in two groups at Maheshwar Resort, Maheshwar in the month of September, 2018. Those who attended the workshop acclaimed that the training was effective and helpful in their day to day working to improve their skills and performance.

BMD: Monthly Training of Staff

We organized monthly training’s as per the annual schedule in which we provide training on the following:                

1. Communication by Mr. Rajan Trivedi & Rohit Katuwa

2. Risk Analysis by Dr. Navdeep Kumar

3. Training on Emergency Preparedness by Mr. Sunil Joshi

The main purpose of these trainings is to keep preparedness for staff & workers to handle any emergency situation and also gain basic knowledge about various machines and awareness about kaizen and importance of communication in life.
