ADHPL Conducted Tier-2 Emergency Preparedness Drill on “Earthquake”

To mark Disaster Awareness Day and the 121st anniversary of the 1905 Kangra earthquake, AD Hydro Power Limited (ADHPL) conducted a Tier-2 mock drill involving all employees and contractor workers. The exercise simulated a major earthquake in the Manali area, causing structural damage to the administration block and temporarily trapping four employees. All four individuals safely self-evacuated using established emergency protocols. The drill successfully evaluated the company’s emergency response speed, crisis communication channels, and workforce evacuation procedures to ensure high-level operational resilience.

ADHPL Conducts Tier-II mock drill on Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF)

ADHPL successfully conducted a comprehensive Tier-II emergency mock drill on Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) scenarios at its project site on March 24, 2026. The exercise witnessed active participation from all internal departments, the local administration, and key community stakeholders.

The simulation began with the project’s Early Warning System (EWS) triggering alarms due to abnormal inflows and upstream lake level fluctuations in the upper ADHPL catchment area. Within 20 minutes, the simulated data showed a sudden, exponential rise in water levels, perfectly mimicking a cloudburst and upstream glacial lake surge.

The primary objective of the drill was to test the real-time effectiveness of ADHPL’s installed EWS in alerting stakeholders. Evaluators focused closely on assessing emergency response agility, inter-departmental communication protocols, and the speed of local evacuation procedures.

ADHPL Participated in State-wide Mega Mock Drill on Earthquake

AD Hydro Power Limited (ADHPL) participated in a mega mock drill organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on June 15, 2026, at 09:00 AM. The multi-departmental exercise simulated a major earthquake to evaluate institutional Emergency Management protocols. ADHPL’s internal response units worked alongside local administration, health services, and fire departments to test evacuation procedures, emergency communication, and structural safety response. The successful exercise validated ADHPL's operational readiness and seamless inter-departmental coordination during a crisis.

ADHPL Participated in State-wide Mega Mock Drill on Cloudburst

ADHPL successfully tested its emergency preparedness on 15 June 2026 during a Tier-3 mega mock drill organized by the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) and led by the SDM of Manali.

Triggered by a loud blast simulating a severe cloudburst in the catchment of Allain barrage, the exercise modeled a sudden flash flood in the Allain stream impacting downstream hotels, guest houses and nearby small hydroelectric projects. The drill highlighted the efficiency of ADHPL's newly deployed Early Warning System (EWS) in rapidly alerting local stakeholders.

Furthermore, ADHPL emergency response teams successfully executed simulated rescues of stranded villagers and staff, safely relocating them to a temporary medical and relief camp set up inside the company's Mechanical Workshop.
