HEG: Global Raisen CSR Initiative Impacting Farmer's Lives

A Mission to Transform India by Increasing Farmer's Income

We saw that "farmer's children showed little interest in farming" as we traveled across Madhya Pradesh. What will this country be like in 20 years? We concentrated on youth, education, and technology. Here's an intriguing case study of the work's outcome.

Vikrant Rajoriya, an engineer who no longer want to migrate:

Vikrant Rajoriya (27), a small-time farmer in Bareli, Raisen district, Madhya Pradesh, used to earn Rs.20,000 to Rs.40,000 per acre cultivating soya and chana, where he sustained losses for several years.

Being an engineer he wanted to migrate but he hated the city life and chose to return. In the village, there were some changes; some farmers were attending training sessions and converting their cropping patterns to fruit tree plantations. Vikrant became fascinated and began researching; everything appeared to be interesting.

Vikrant had his farm's soil and water analyzed as part of the pre-plantation procedure and discovered that the soil was suitable for planting papaya. He attended all of the fruit specialists' regular training sessions. He planted three acres of Papaya in his field in October 2020, armed with the essential technical expertise and high-quality saplings from Global Parli.

The first significant papaya crop is now being harvested. Which will bring him over Rs. 1,00,000 per acre in revenue. "Wish we had begun fruit plantations earlier," his father laments, "we would be in a lot better condition by now." “Our family may now live in safety and comfort,” Vikrant says. There is no need to migrate."

Vikrant is now inspiring other farmers to transform their life by adopting Global Parli's plantation concept as well as this year he has planted bananas on his field too. Life has changed for the better. Despair has been replaced with hope.

INDIA CAN WAIT NO MORE!
