9 Ways to Relax and Calm Your Mind
Do you want to feel better about life and yourself? Learn to relax; enjoy moments of peace, compassion, surround yourself with trusted friends, sing and dance under a tree. Life is meant to be lived and loved.
1. Discover the value of compassion
Compassion is a kind act of acceptance and understanding. Offer yourself compassion and feel satisfied with who you are at this precise moment. Leave behind any feelings of inferiority, being too self-conscious, trusting others more than you trust yourself, self-judgment or blame. Compassion allows you to relax, enjoy a moment of peace and then, accept things you can’t change but be resilient at the same time.
2. Take a walk
Walking relieves stress, makes you feel calm, content and is one of the best ways to relax your mind.
3. Call a friend and entertain each other
Rediscover the value and pleasure of human connection, feel more relaxed, safer, loved and accepted.
4. Cook something new
Cooking helps you to alleviate tension and makes you feel more positive. Cooking something new can be the instant recipe for a calm mind and if you can share it with someone you love, double the effect.
5. Hug a tree or gardening
We have a deep connection to nature which is one of the most effective remedies to all sorts of problems we might have - from physical pains to emotional ones.
6. Dance
When you feel stressed, uninspired, sad, or (even) overwhelmed, Stand Up, put the music on and dance. The motion range of dancing is forcing (gently) all your brain areas to talk to each other, and the result is feeling peaceful and relaxed.
7. Make a coloured drawing
Colours influence your mood and sense of well-being. Colours bring more a moment of peace and relaxation.
8. Play with your pet
You will be amazed by how much closer you feel to your pet after you make play a regular part of your life. You will look forward to spending time with your pet. Our mental and physical health also improves at the same rate as your pets. Provoking your pets to a bit naughty and then, humanize their reactions, laughing and giggling together. This will help you to relax and calm your mind.
9. Singing
Singing is, like dancing, an activity that improves the biochemistry of your brain releasing endorphins. You feel good, relaxed and more creative after singing.
