HEG: Workshop on MS Excel
The HR-L&D organized refresher workshop on MS Excel for employees and it is headed by Mr. D S Lodhi on 22nd October 2019, where the employees were taught about presentation and analysis of Charts, Pivot Tables, Macros, Data calculations through advanced formulas, linking sheets, V-Lookup & H-Lookup, usage of graphics in excel sheets etc. in this given series of MS Excel knowledge upgradation among employees.
HEG: Behavior Based Safety
Behavior Based Safety is a program designed to influence employee actions toward safer outcomes, ideally by preventing an accident or injury before it occurs. Implementing a Behavior Based safety programs by Learning & Development team provided a platform to HEG employees with the most comprehensive way to understand safety, eliminate hazards and prevent injuries. This Behavior Based Safety program conducted on 15thOctober 2019 , Mr. Hemen of Momentum India included sessions of mutual discussions and review of Case studies and helping out employee to understand the goal behavior based safety i.e “at risk” behaviors to “safe” behavior.
HEG: Session on Goal & Purpose of Life
HR-L&D organized a session on Goal & Purpose of Life, In these session people understood that ultimate goal of life is to attain the highest perfectional stage of devotional service to the Lord. As God is the source of all happiness and love the essence of spiritual life is to develop love for God. This session was conducted on 4th October 2019 by PrabhuAnanthaSesa Das of AkshayPatra. A sankirtan was conducted at the end of session and people learnt a lot of positive things and enjoyed this session.
HEG: Training on Graphite Technology
Graphite Technology is not a written down method, which could be easily found on books or manuals, it is a knowledge gained by our industrial experts from years of experience and learning thru hit and trials and gradually improving the process. Thus, it becomes crucial that this vast knowledge and experience is shared time-to-time with the next generation of employees, who have to carry the legacy with improving the existing processes. HR-L&D organized a Knowledge sharing session on Graphite Technology with help of Mr. Puneet Tiwari who shared the nuances of processes related to graphite manufacturing.
HEG: Session on Self Improvement
Our HR-L&D team organized a session on self-Improvement for our Tawa team members on 12th October 2019 by Mr. Hemendra Jain. In this session people learnt the ways to self-Improve e.g. read book every day, learn new language, overcome your fears, level up your skills, get out of your comfort zone, stay focused with to do list, learn from people who inspire you, Quit a bad habit, avoid negative people and many more positive things.
HEG: Quality Circle Competition (Bhopal)
The Quality Circle teams Karma, Pragati &Vidhyut participated in QCFI Madhya Pradesh State Level Quality Circle Competition held at Bhopal on 12th October 2019 and exhibited their exemplary efforts through the presentation skills and case studies. Team Pragati, Vidhyut & Team Karma brought laurels to our plant by winning Gold award in this competition. All the teams received big appreciation from plant officials for their exemplary & enthusiastic efforts in the competition.
HEG: Session on 3D Machine
HR-L&D organized a session on 3D Machine from 11th to 15th November 2019 by Mr. Nikhil Medkar from Carl Zeiss. In this session people learnt Basics of CMM, Geometric Dimension & Tolerances (GD&T), Chasing tools inspection, Electrode & Nipple inspection, Base alignment of any job, 3D scanning and many more things related to 3D machine.
HEG: Training on Industrial First Aid
The First aid is the first and immediate assistance given to any person suffering from either a minor or serious illness or injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery. HEG Learning & Development team provided a platform to HEG employee for training workshop on Industrial First Aid, Dr. Shikha & Dr. N P Tiwari from Red Cross Bhopal shared their knowledge on First Aid education, stresses the importance of practicing safety at all times to prevent accidents and emergencies. This session held from 4th to 6th November, 2019 which helped the employees to work carefully and avoid accidents. These trainings directly makes the workplace more secure and safer.
HEG: Session on Dust Collection System
The HR-L&D team organized a session on Dust Collection System on 1st November 2019 by Mr. D Pandey (External Trainer). In this session people understood about dust collection system and how this system can improve air quality in Industrial, commercial and production shops to improve breathable air quality and safety by removing particulate matter from the air and environment. The dust collection system works on the basic formula of capture, convey and collect.
HEG: Session on Basic Steel Making & EAF
Our HR-L&D team organized a session on Basic steel making & Electric arc furnace on 28th November 2019 by Mr. T Nagarajan. In this session people understood about two of the processes i.e. basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS) and electric arc furnaces (EAF), account for virtually all steel production. BOS methods add recycled scrap steel to the molten iron in a converter. At high temperatures, oxygen is blown through the metal, which reduces the carbon content to between 0-1.5 percent.
HEG: Session on Fire Fighting System
A session on Firefighting system was organised by HR-L&D team on 29th November 2019 by Mr. Surendra Sharma of Safety Department. During the session people understood about Fire triangle, Classification of fire, A, B, C, D & K types of fire and their rectification, Emergency information system and emergency contact numbers, firefighting equipment in HEG, PPEs, Smoke detectors, Permit system for everyone and also shared case studies on the same.
Banswara: “Man ki Shakti” Training Program
Shri Pankaj Shukla, Being Capable Organization conducted a training program on Mann ki Shakti for Khata checkers. Total 52 Khata checkers participated in the program. The program was very much appreciated by the participants and management. The session concluded with an assurance that management shall repeat such programs at a regular interval.
LNJ Denim: Motivational Workshop - Man Ki Shakti
'Change is the nature of life' A motivation workshop - Man Ki Shakti was conducted on 8th November, 2019. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the lamp & prayer by Shri Manoj Kumar Jha. The six hour training program was provided to Checkers of Mayur & LNJ Denim. It was imparted by Mr Pankaj Shukla, Being Capable Organization, Nagpur, senior faculty motivational program. It was a good programme to find out the inner potential of an employee. It was elaborated that how a man get capable in four aspect of health, knowledge, money & characteristic. At the end it was concluded with playing the game in Unity of strength. It was a great learning for employee. All the participants were observed highly appreciative of the programme and they learned so many good things which can change and improve their life.
Mandpam: Fire & Safety Training Program
A training programme on Fire & Safety was organized by the Mandpam Unit on 7th November, 2019. The main objective was to clarify the role of industrial safety and how it’s importance in day to day working. Shri Anil Kumar (Executive – Fire & Safety) was the faculty for this training programme.
Mandpam: Awareness Session
The "SANGAM SCHOOL OF EXCELLENCE, BHILWARA" organized an awareness session on their school infrastructure & education pattern; dated 23rd December 2019. Interested parents attended the awareness session with great enthusiasm. The session was really a beneficial one for parents as well as for other dignatories.
BSL: Hazards Identification & Risk Assessment Training
BSL has organized Specialized Training Program on the topic of “Hazards Identification & Risk Assessment” for their floor level workmen related work place activities including machine operation and its preventive maintenance. Approx 360 workmen have taken actives participation from Spinning, Weaving and Processing Division.
Shri Ram Milan Singh (Manager-Safety) and Shri C.S. Sharma (AGM-QA/QC) has conducted such training program on practical with aim of the study was to identify all the possible hazards at different workplaces & activities, to conduct an occupational health risk assessment, to calculate the risk rating based on the risk matrix, and to compare the risk rating before and after the control measures.
BSL: HIV and AIDS Awareness Training
CMHO, Bhilwara and their team has conducted HIV and AIDS awareness program HIV and AIDS with an aims to encourage people and following contents have covered during such program by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Mustak Khan and their team by live presentation & video clips:

What are HIV and AIDS?

How HIV is transmitted to others.

To take action to reduce the transmission of HIV by promoting prevention strategies; and

To ensure that people living with HIV can participate fully in the life of the community, free from stigma and discrimination.
AIDS awareness is an important policy to incorporate into workplace and our society. In this regards, BSL Management is also taken initiative to organizing this awareness programme to our workforces covering to all workplaces of various units.
Total 107 personnel (Staffs & Workmen) have taken active participation in this awareness/Training program from various workplaces at Weaving Unit-II, Processing & spinning and Weaving Division along with Senior Officials as Shri H.P. Mathur, Shri Anil Agrawal, Shri R.D. Jat , Shri V.K. Chouhan and Shri A.S. Bhati.
Shri Ram Milan Singh (Manager-Safety) has taken active initiative to organising this awareness programme at site.
ADHPL: TB Mukht Abhiyan Awareness Camp
The Govt. of India under its banner of National Health Mission has organised tuberculosis awareness and training programme “TB Mukht Bharat Abhiyan”. An awareness camp on tuberculosis and the co-infection HIV was organised at ADHPL on 22nd November 2019 with the help of the state medical department. The Block Medical officer, Nagar and MO Jagatsukh Dispensary provided the valuable information about diseases to the attendees. A few persons offered themselves for voluntary testing during the awareness camp. The camp was attended by approximately 100 persons consisting of ADHPL employees, workers and family members of ADHPL staff.
ADHPL: Tier II Mock Drill
A Tier-II mock drill was conducted on December 27th, 2019 involving Government organizations & local panchayatto test the emergency preparedness & response planning and communication with external agencies. The scenario of mock drill was that heavy rain was forecasted by various weather forecasting agencies from 25th to 28th December 2019 in Beas basin resulting in floods in Duhangan stream on December 27th, 2019. The employees at Duhangan were put on high alert and the road was shut for traffic due to chances of land slide/rock fall. At 10:30 Hrs Duhangan control room informed that the water level had risen above the danger level. The HR and bulk head gates were closed & the GFT gate was opened and the staff moved to a safer place. The road management teams with rescue team from Fire services, Manali proceeded for carrying out the rescue operations. Different departments including Govt. agencies and village bodies took part in the mock drill. The mock drill concluded at 12:17 Hrs.
MPCL: Mock Drill on Earthquake Rescue
MPCL EHS department conducted a mock drill on earthquake emergency rescue operation on December 30, 2019 at Power House and residential colony. The mock drill was carried out by the experts of Himachal Home Guards under the supervision of company commander. The scenario of the mock drill was also finalized by the company commander, Himachal Home Guards and MPCL, HODs with consent of Plant in-charge.
An earthquake struck to the region and was strongly experienced in power house and residential colony causing wall collapse at many places, blocking of access through entrance gate of service bay due to earthquake. Control room shift personnel, electrical, mechanical maintenance personnel etc. were trapped inside the power house. These personnel rescued from Power House through emergency exit.
Maral: State Safety Week
In the memory of Bhopal Gas tragedy, happened in the midnight of 3rd December 1984, State Safety Week organized at Maral Overseas Ltd, Maral Sarovar from 3rd to 9th December 2019. During the entire week, various safety promotional and awareness activities were conducted i.e. Class room trainings, Mock Drills, Shop Floor Events, Safety Quiz Competition etc. to create safety awareness among the people involved in different types of hazardous activities.
Maral: Chemical Safety Training
To improve the Safety Skill of Employees, training session on Chemical Safety Management was organized on 28th November 2019 at Maral Overseas Limited by Momentum India Pvt. Ltd, a renowned consultant in the field of safety audits. A large number of employees from Dyeing, ETP and WTP sections attended the program. Advanced techniques of Chemical Storage, Handling and Use of PPEs explained to the employees through PPT presentation and Video Film during the session.
Maral: Workshop on “Behaviour Based Safety”
A workshop on “Behaviour Based Safety” was organized at Maral Overseas Ltd, Maral Sarovar by Safety Consultants M/s. Momentum India Pvt. Ltd, New Delhi on 27th November 2019. Behavior Based Safety is a program designed to influence employee actions toward safer outcomes, ideally by preventing an accident or injury before it occurs. Ideally 85 – 90 % of workplace accidents are caused by unsafe behavior. About 50 staff members from senior and middle management participated in the workshop and acquired the knowledge how to promote safety, eliminate hazards and prevent injuries.
Rishabhdev: Self Development Programme
`Speak what you know’ programme was held at Rishabhdev on 4th October, 2019. The programme was attended by officers and staff members and encouraged the participants by giving feed back on the spot for further improvement in their presentation. Thereafter an extempore speech on current affairs was held and many members from the audience put their point of view on the subject, which was liked by all.
Rishabhdev: Sexual Harassment Awareness Progamme
On 30th December, 2019 a session was held on Sexual Harassment at Rishabhdev unit in which all female workers participated. Dr. Ashok Soni, Medical Officer took the class to make them aware as to what precaution they have to take for their safety while at work place.
Kharigram: “Quality Complaints & It’s Control Measures” Training
A training programme on “Quality Complaints & It’s Control Measures” was organised at Kharigram on 18th October 2019. Shri P.N. Jha, DGM-Post Spinning, presented this learning session on various types of Quality Complaints, their financial impacts and their remedies which was followed by open discussions. Total 36 officers got benefited from this learning program.
Kharigram: Brain Storming Session on Energy Conservation
A Brain Storming Session on “Energy Conservation” was conducted on 18th November, 2019 at Kharigram unit. Shri Sunil Kumar Gupta, GM-Engineering explained about various applications to save the energy. During this session all Engineers came with different ideas for energy conservation. Engineers from Maintenance, Engineering and Production departments participated in this session.
Kharigram: Training Programme on Motivation
A learning session on Motivation was conducted on 5th November, 2019. The participants of “Udaan” from Kharigram explained & shared various techniques to understand Self-Motivation, How to Motivate Team, Situational Leadership, Paradism etc. All HODs & Section in-charges participated in this experience sharing programme. During the programme, an open discussion cum interaction session with respect to practical aspects of this topic was very interesting.
Kharigram: Training Session on PES Fiber Dyeing-Challenges and Solutions
A training programme on PES Fiber Dyeing-Challenges and Solutions was conducted on 8th November, 2019. The HR department facilitated this program and it was conducted by Team Archroma India training on various methods of Fiber Dyeing, problems facing in Dyeing and their solutions maintaining the cost. Total 27 officers from Production & Quality departments attended this program and got benefited.
Kharigram: Training on “Accident- Cause, Effect & Prevention"
HR department conducted training cum awareness programme on Accident - Cause, Effect & Prevention on 27th December, 2019 which was presented by Shri Dileep Chourasia, Safety Officer. The officers of Engineering, Maintenance, Security, Commercial and Production departments were covered in this programme. The training topics were; Near Miss, Unsafe Act & Practices, Unsafe Condition, Behavioral Safety, Fire Safety, Assemble method etc. covered during this session. He educated all the personnel to follow safety rules and how to respond upon on different emergency situations.
Kharigram: Social Accountability Training Programme
A training programme on Social Accountability (SA 8000:2014) was organised on 24th October, 2019 in Gyan Mandir, Kharigram. Mr. Gourav Bakliwal, Dy. Manager-HR and Mr K.N Mathur, AGM-Personnel & IR extended learning to core members of SA team & SPT members. They focused on all major aspects of SA, Roles & Responsibility of SPT members, process of Internal audit, risk assessment, compliances etc. There was also an interaction session about compliance status and readiness with respect to Audit. All participants got benefited from this training programme.
Kharigram: Workshop on Quality Circle
The HR department conducted a workshop on Qulaity Circle (QC) on 11th December, 2019. This program was meant for HOD’s and Process Owners. During this training session Shri Vinod Kumar Purohit-CTSC briefed about QC aspects and new projects were also identified at department/Unit level. He explained abut basics, uses of quality tools, techniques and how to identify a perfect team for any specific project. This program was very useful in terms of higher productivity and cost saving aspects.
