HEG: Global Parli Project

Global Parli was conceptualized to improve the situation in Parli Taluka of the drought-prone region of Marathwada. However, the distal goal of our mission is to demonstrate that the transformation of the country is certainly possible if the worst affected villages can be transformed in a sustainable manner. As part of our scaling up activities, we have partnered with Govt MP,HEG and CBO CPPP(Community Public private Partnership) to implement our model to transform Raisen District in MP. Through our model of 360° development, we work in areas of  water management, introduction of alternative livelihood activities to raise income levels, and social activities that promote skill development and capacity building among the local community. Our main focus is to encourage a shift in cropping patterns- from cotton and soya- to horticulture to increase the income levels of farmers by at least 25 times. Growing fruit trees is not only beneficial for replenishing the soil and mitigating flash floods but also helps in poverty alleviation and reduction in migration to urban centers. Through our tie-ups with consumer platforms like AllFresh and other wholesale fruit dealers, we also train the farmers in post-harvest management like packaging and marketing through digital marketplaces and sale of produce to APMCs.
