MPCL: Construction of Nature Park at Kasol

MPCL has supported the construction of Nature Park at Kasol, through Parvati Forest Division, Shamshi, Kullu. The main objective to construct the parks is to conserve the nature and to sensitize local people about enhancement of green patch in the surrounding area by which ecological balance of the area will be maintained.

MPCL: Supported Community Health Centre for Better Treatment

Malana Power Corporation Ltd. has assisted and supported the Community Health Centre located in Jari village by handing over an Auto Blood Analyser machine for Bio chemistry test, Centrifugal Machine and an Incubator to help the local people of Jari by giving them quality treatment through latest medical machines which diagnoses quickly and accurately. 

MPCL: Women Sewing Training Centre

MPCL is continuing with their six months sewing training (cutting & tailoring) under CSR project for women around the Project areas. The CSR activity is running since March 2017 and especially helped the local ladies in their extra earnings through regular training and assistance. Presently, the 4th phase of women sewing training center is running at Pathala village where approximately 18 women are being trained and they are really enthusiastic to learn more and more tehniques of cutting & tailoring.

MPCL: Upgraded IT Facility in Govt. School

MPCL with the vision of providing IT enabled education, has upgraded the Information technology infrastructure in the Govt. Sen. Sec. School, Jari by installing latest generation of computers and printers in its computer lab. The students were really happy with the installation of new and faster computers which will enhance their learning experience and also they wiould get to know more about the latest techology.

MPCL: 21st Sports Meet at Kullu

Malana Power Corporation Ltd. has organized 21st Sports & Duty Meet at Kullu through State Forest tournament. The tournament witnessed different types of sports activities and the players from nearby towns and villages of Kullu district participated with full enthusiasm and won medals. The sports tournament which was supported by MPCL was a huge success and everyone praises this step to promote sports culture in the region and requested that it should be organised at a regular time interval.

MPCL: Badminton Tournament at Kullu

Badminton is one of the popular and well known sport in India, therefore MPCL has organized Badminton Tournament through Kullu District Badminton Tournament Association. The youngsters of Kullu and nearby areas paticipated in this tournament to show their skills in Badminton. Some of the players were really good and if trained well, they can go upto state or national level championships which will boost sports culture in the area.

MPCL: State Level Cricket Tournament for Visually Impaired

The passion of Cricket in India is way beyond measures and with this in mind, MPCL organized State Level Cricket Tournament for Visually Impaired at Kullu. This was the  first time when a private organisation is organizing a cricket tournament for visually impaired people in Kullu district. This event was appreciated by all and the winning team of the tournament lifted the trophy with great pride.

MPCL: Construction of Toilets

Taking inspiration from "Swachha Bharat Abhiyan" Malana Power Corporation Ltd. has constructed separate toilets for boys and girls in Govt. Senior Sec. School at Jallugran, Jari (Near Project Site) under its CSR activities. This initiative is taken to ensure the privacy, sanitation and hygiene of the students. Also, this will help in clean environment near the school surroundings.

MPCL: Recognition For Environment Protection

MPCL was felicitated by the Minister of Himachal Pradesh for its contribution towards protection of forest and nature. The event was held on 19th December 2018 at Kullu. The Honorable Minister appreciated the contribution made by MPCL for construction of 3 Nature Parks, Regular Plantation of Trees to support ecological balance and carrying out various other activities for promoting awareness amongst the local people for environment protection. He appreciated the work done by MPCL towards society as a corporate citizen of the country and requested others as well to contribute somewhow towards the upliftment of the society and to protect our environment. 

MPCL: Won 'Best CSR Impact Awards' & 'Best Innovative CSR Projects'

Malana Power Corporation Ltd. has won the award under the category, Best CSR Impact Awards' by Shri Pratyush Pandya, Head CSR, ACC Limited. The award was presented to MPCL (jointly received by Mr. R. K. Khaitan & Mr. Arvind Gupta) on 28th November 2018 at Mumbai. The Impact CSR schemes launched by MPCL are Women Empowerment scheme (Sewing Training Centre), Providing School Infrastructure Support to LMS since 2008, Tree plantations & 3 Nature parks, Free acupressure & medical treatment, taking various measures for Environment Protection and Healthcare of local people despite being in tough hilly terrain.

MPCL has also won the award for the following projects under the category, Best Innovative CSR Projects.

a) MPCL Vidyasaarathi Scheme: Reaching out to the absolutely needy students of Himachal Pradesh was a tough task because in the hills most of the welfare schemes does not reach the end users due to inadequate connectivity. The company partnered with NSDL E-governance for a technology-enabled CSR scholarship, to bridge the gap in educational scholarship in the State of Himachal Pradesh through an online platform. The solution helped manage the entire online scholarship application lifecycle i.e. submission and review of scholarship application, award of scholarship, disbursement of funds, and renewal of scholarships.

b) Handimachal Therapy Centre: This is a new CSR initiative by the company to support Handimachal Therapy Centre. The Centre works towards treating children with orthopedic impairments, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, speech and hearing impairments, developmental delays, sensory processing disorders any many more.

ADHPL: Running Sewing Center at Prini Village

AD Hydro Power Ltd. has been consistently supporting and running Sewing training center for women at village Prini. The aim of this activity is to empower women through vocational trainings so that they can live a better life by earning some extra income from the training. One of the trained tailor has been hired to train the techniques of tailoring. Approximately 30-35 women are trained in December 2018 session. The local women from village were really happy and thanked MPCL family for all the support.

ADHPL: Running Charitable Dispensary at Prini

ADHPL is running a charitable dispensary in village Prini for the local people around the project area. The dispensary provides free treatment and general medicines to the poors and the needy ones. In the calendar year 2018, 6,758 patients were treated for different ailments in the dispensary. The dispensary also has its own diagnostic laboratory which helped more than 900 patients for diagnosis purposes. In addition to this, the charitable dispensary actively participates in the national immunization programs for children also.

ADHPL: 6500+ Patients Treated in Dispensary

ADHPL is running a dispensary under CSR activities in village Prini of project affected area. The dispensary provides treatment free of cost to the local people of the area. This year 6,758 patients were treated for different ailments in the dispensary from January 01 to December 31, 2018. The dispensary has its own diagnostic lab from which more than nine hundred patients were benefited. In addition to this the dispensary actively participates in the national immunization programs for children.

Kharigram: Blood Donation Camp

On the occasion of the Birthday of Syt LNJ Babu on 17th October 2018, a blood donation camp was organised in the Staff Club of Kharigram unit. Shri V. R. Joshi - COO inaugurated the blood camp and welcomed the Doctors & Medical Team of JLN Medical College, Ajmer and also donated blood. All the workers and staff members participated enthusiastically in this social camp and total 73 units blood were donated during a day long camp.

Kharigram: Dhwaj Yatra to Badi Mataji Temple

During the holy festival of Navratra, the Dhwaj Yatra of Maa Durga started from Mill Campus to Badi Mataji Temple with Bhajan & Kirtans at 11.00 AM on 13th October, 2018. A grand pooja was performed by Shri Rajeev Jain, Business Head - Yarn Business, Shri V. R. Joshi, COO along with union leader Mohd. Iliyas, Sr. Officers and other workers after reaching the temple which was followed by Mahaprasad. The people of that area have immense faith in Badi Mataji Temple and every year they perform big pujan and havan during Navratra days. 

Kharigram: Students Visited Kharigram Unit

As a part of CSR, two groups of 60 students of Auro Vidya Mandir during his tour, visited Kharigram Unit on 2nd November and 23rd November, 2018. Shri Rajeev Jain, Business Head-YB, Shri V.R. Joshi, COO welcomed them with great gesture. The HR & Kharigram team facilitated all the students and teachers during their stay & visit at Kharigram plant. The students learned about various processes of Yarn Manufacturing in our unit and felt extremely delighted by getting such unique experience. Their faculty expressed thanks to entire Management that this visit will help students in enhancement of their learning, knowledge and practical approach.

Banswara: Blood Donation Camp

On the birthday of Syt. LNJ Babu a blood donation camp was organised at Lodha, Banswara unit. The M. G. Hospital Staff facilitated the entire Camp with a team of Sr. Doctors. Blood was donated by Staff as well as Workers & Contractors for a social cause. To encourage for donating the blood, the COO Shri. Sukesh Sharma, Vice President, Shri R. P. Mundra, Shri Ashok Sodani and Shri Aditya Kumar Sharma were also present at Blood Donation Camp. Shri Rakesh Gagrani, Shri K. C. Wilson, Shri Abhimanyu Singh and Shri Vikram Singh were the main coordinators for this social cause. Shri Gagrani also explained about the benefits of the blood donation to the blood donors.

Mandpam: Blood Donation Camp

A blood donation camp was organized on the occasion of Syt. LNJ Babu’s birthday i.e. 17th October, 2018 by RSWM, Melange team in coordination with Mahatma Gandhi Hospital, Bhilwara at Melange staff club, Mandpam.

Shri Sudhir Tiwari, Head - HR & IR, inaugurated the blood donation camp at Mandpam unit. The certificates were given to all the donors in appreciation of their contribution to this great cause through which someone's life can be saved.

HO: Woollen Clothes Distribution

On the occasion of New Year 2019, LNJ Bhilwara Group donated warm clothes to office security guards and facility staff which includes Woollen Caps, Woollen Mufflers, Woollen Gloves so that during extreme cold conditions they are able to work properly and don’t get ill. After receiving a set of woollen clothes, our office security guards & facility staff were really happy and they welcomed this effort from LNJ Bhilwara Group. The workers were requested to wear these warm clothes during day-to-day working in winters for smooth functioning in the office premises.

HEG: Adopt a Heritage: "Apni Dharohar, Apni Pehchaan”

Under the Adopt a Heritage: Apni Dharohar, Apni Pehchaan Project, HEG Limited has been approved as a Monument Mitra’ by Ministry of Tourism, Government of India for Bhimbetka Rock Shelters, Bhojpur, Raisen, Madhya Pradesh, a recognized world heritage site by UNESCO. Shri Sudhir Sood, Group President & CHRO along with Smt. Jyoti Gupta, Head - Administration have received the certificate from the Ministry for the same and MoU has been signed between HEG Limited and Ministry of Tourism along with Archaeological Survey of India for the overall development of the adopted heritage site and to enhance tourism by promoting the traditional and local culture of the particular area. This is a big achievement for HEG Limited to develop, promote and augment one of the world’s diverse heritage site and also to work under Government of India scheme.
